Night Glow

The beautiful glow that our shop puts out at night time is something we felt we had to show off. The light through the dresses shows off their amazing colours and how the glow in the sunlight. Summer is on its way and for those of you choosing your dresses now is the time to be ordering in time for your sunshine wedding.

Our wedding spring windows are something a little different. Centre stage goes to our stunning Shell Belle range of lingerie and loungewear. The kimono is a hugely popular item in our shop, we all adore it and need one for ourselves. The fabulous shoes are by Diane Hassall, Rainbow Club. Keeping the gorgeous dusty pink colour.

The left window shows off our Naomi Neoh beaut, Esme and her bridesmaid Georgina by Maids To Measure. They compliment each other perfect with their pale hues and are perfection for a summer wedding.

On the right Primrose by Naomi Neoh fills the window with her flowing full silk skirt, accompanied by another fabulous Maids To Measure gown which is a multi maid. This glorious grey beauty can be worn in several different ways, which is such a good choice if you have bridesmaids with different styles. They can all wear the same dress but chose how they style it.

Don't forget our Naomi Neoh designer weekend is nearly upon us and if you love the look of these stunners then call us (01872 279 882) to book your appointment and receive 10% off your glorious gown if you order that weekend only, 25th - 27th March.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

With only 4 more sleeps till Christmas we thought your Monday needed some festive spirit to make those of you working this week, feel a bit more excited for Christmas Day.

I know we would love to have a white christmas but not everyone is that lucky, but we can imagine it. And what a wonderful thing it would be to have a white snowy wedding day. We can't think of anything more romantic!

The lovely Stephanie modelling our Taylor by Decorum dress is a winter dream in the snow with festive themed bouquets and pastel surroundings. All wonderfully shot by the super talented Emma Griffin from Griffin Photography. Adding a bit of warmth to the wedding day outfit with our feather shrugs, Milan and London by Joan Lee creates a fabulous winter statement that makes the outfit even more dreamy.

If you're having a christmas wedding we would LOVE to hear your stories, but what do you think about this winter theme?

Make Up Testimonial - Beauty Parlour

AMY -

On Saturday the 12th of August I set off to St Merryn to do the lovely Rebecca Heseltons wedding make up. We had done a trail two weeks before so with the required tools in hand and the desired look fresh in my mind I arrived to her parents’ home for 11am. One of my favourite things about my job is the feeling I get when I arrive at a bride to be’s house on the morning of her wedding. Excitement is thick in the air and to be a small part of that leaves me feeling really lucky and honoured. Plus, as far as brides go Rebecca was a dream! She was excited, laid back and just so lovely to work with – which makes my job incredible easy. Rebecca chose a natural look for the day and so we went for shimmers and soft shades as you will see from the photographs. We had a laugh during the makeup and upon showing Rebecca the completed look I received a huge hug as she told me it was exactly what she had envisioned. I spent my time between doing Rebecca and her mums make up advising and having a play with the bridesmaids make up. And then when Kirsteen, Rebeccas' mum was ready I set to work with her. Again she was laid back and lovely. All she wanted were the appearance of her few age spots reduced for the day. For Kirsteen I applied a light coverage of foundation and again subtle tones. She also was thrilled and the makeup even received a compliment from her husband!

Thank you Rebecca and the bridal party, it was an honour to be there on the morning of your wedding and congratulations Mr and Mrs Miles, I wish you a lifetime of happiness together!

REBECCA -

First of all, let me say THANK YOU so much for doing our makeup. You were so brilliant. The trial in the gorgeous bridal house of Cornwall put me right at ease. We talked about mood boards, the kind of makeup I usually wear and the kind of look we wanted for the wedding (natural, 'me at my best' and able to withstand whatever the Cornish weather threw at it). By having the trial we could tweak exactly what I wanted so I felt really comfortable and excited going into the morning of the wedding.

And on the morning of the wedding, you were perfect. I had a cold! (No one ever reads about brides with colds!) But Amy made sure my skin was flawless. The makeup you used was great for sensitive skins, matched away a slightly dubious sunglasses tan line mark and created a natural, pretty and 'English Rose' look which I really wanted. So many people complimented me throughout the day on how well I l looked and how natural which was the best compliment ever.

I bought my dress, veil and shoes from Bridal house of Cornwall so I had experienced first-hand how well Tash, Kelly and Amy looked after Brides to be. So when I heard Amy was setting up the beauty parlour I knew that she would have the perfect combination of someone who really knows how to look after you and make you feel special, as well as being a top notch makeup artist. I felt absolutely incredible all day and it was down in no small part to Amy and her team.

KIRSTEEN -

The morning spent getting ready for the ceremony, was a time of love, companionship and purpose. Amy was in charge of doing our makeup, I do not usually wear make-up....ever...so was reluctant to do anything too radical. Rebecca, however, was keen that I have some make-up done professionally and sensitively; Amy knew exactly what was expected of her and set to.
Amy asked if there was anything I particularly wanted and all I said was I still wanted to look like "me" but without the two age spots!! No problem she said and began.... when I looked in the mirror it was "me" on a really good day, it was "me" without the age spots and it was "me" looking happy and delighted with the results.

My husband said “It’s beautiful - you look really lovely". Note to self.....must start using make up!!

Amy also gave the bridesmaids advice and guidance when asked, was not flustered and remained calm and unhurried. It was perfect.
Amy, thank you for all you did in helping Rebecca and being a part of her special day, thank you.

I would certainly recommend Amy and I just loved knowing that I really did look my best.

Real Bride Story - Christina & Alex

"Alex and I met in 2011 after I had moved in the house across the street from him. From neighbours to friends, we became inseparable since the day we met.  He proposed to me in April 2014, and we couldn't wait to start planning our big day.  We were married at the Gates on Roblin, a beautiful venue overlooking the river in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.  We wanted to have a formal garden themed wedding...flowers, flowers and more flowers!  Our colours for our big day were blush and gold.  We wanted a more informal look for our wedding party, so each of the bridesmaids wore different pink coloured dresses, and our groomsmen wore different outfits, all with a hint of pink.

The outdoor ceremony was both intimate and lovely. The weather was hot - about 34C that day - and our wedding programs doubled as fans to keep out guests cool for the duration of the short ceremony.  Following the ceremony, we hosted a cocktail reception on the huge outdoor deck overlooking the river.  Guests enjoyed music and champagne before the reception began.

We wanted our reception to be elegant and classy.  We opted to skip most of the wedding traditions; we did not have a head table, nor formal dinner, no speeches, no children, and no bouquet tosses or bride and groom's first dance.  Rather, we hosted a cocktail reception with delicious foods like salmon tartar, ahi tuna tataki, and beef carpaccio canapĂ©. We had done a wine tasting months before-hand and picked a delicious Argentinian Malbec and a Chilean Sauvignon Blanc.  We wanted to spend more time socializing with our guests, so there was no formal sit-down for supper.  In lieu of dancing to "our song" (Falling Slowly, Glen Hasgard), we decided to perform it instead.  We both sang together, and my husband played the guitar and I played the piano.  We loved the intimacy of the performance (and rehearsing together was a load of fun too!).  We had hand selected our entire playlist for the evening; our DJ did a fantastic job of keeping the mood light with our indie pop selections.  We wanted our guests to feel as though they were at a party, and a party it was!  Dancing got underway near the end of the evening, and before the lights went down and the music turned up; we had everyone gather on the outdoor deck one more time for a fantastic 15-minute fireworks show - another surprise we had in store for our guests.

What a wonderful day it was!

I received many (many!) compliments on my lovely Naomi Neoh "Peony" gown.  It fit my curvy figure perfectly, and I felt very pretty wearing it.  It was a very hot day, and the dress was light and airy so I really did not feel the heat (not like my husband in his 3-piece suit!).   It was a very windy day, and my dress and hair were flowing making for lovely pictures and dramatic video!  We had two photographers and two videographers and they all said I picked the perfect dress for the day.

A huge Thank you to the Bridal House of Cornwall for your wonderful service.  They sold me my beautiful gown and had a gorgeous matching veil made which looked beautiful with my flower crown.  I couldn't have been more pleased!!"

A wonderful romantic story by our over seas bride, congratulation on your big day, you look AMAZING in your Naomi Neoh gown!

St.Ives Wedding Fayre

As some of you may know if you had been there or seen it advertised on facebook there was a Wedding Fayre in St.Ives on sunday at the Harbour Hotel. (amazing venue if you haven't checked it out) Like the last wedding fayre we took part in the catwalk show and feature our favourite dresses from our boutique on some stunning models and it was the first chance to show off some new arrivals. The new Claire Pettibones' went down a storm and were shown off in all their glory, also enhanced by some creative glitz by the girls from Dollface Make Up that crafted some magical masterpieces.

We can't wait for the next big show where we will have all our new collections in to show off to you all and help you find the perfect dress for the big day!

Another wonderful Wedding Fayre organised by Super Duper Wedding Events and photographed by the super talented Griffin Photography. BIG thanks to all our models for rocking our dresses so perfectly and hope we can make the next one even bigger!
